The breakdown of stereotypes and the presentation of diverse and value-creating career models offered by agriculture will be implemented in a school roadshow in 2019.
The presentations are interactive and engaging with many visual and video materials. The experience at the meetings is that students have a very basic knowledge and practical experience, often reflecting old agricultural production, and thus create low susceptibility to the profession. That’s why we consider it important to look for agricultural schools in the county once a year and try to contribute to the career orientation of young generation by showing what it’s really like to work in production what offers a serious career, especially in a region called the country's „pantry”.
FirstFarms Hungary Ltd.'s 2018 school roadshow has had many positive effects. We were able to establish personal relationships with hundreds of students in several schools with agricultural profile and answer their questions personally. The meetings doubled the number of students interested in animal production as part of their summer work, but one of our employees was also employeed from those students who had met with us and became interested in pig production.
We appreciate the openness, helpfulness and support of the schools we have visited as part of our school roadshow, so far this year we have visited GFF Békés Vocational School and in Makó, József Galamb Agricultural Vocational and Secondary School where we met agricultural technicians and mechanical students.
